Nambu Tekki Cast Iron Kettle - Wood Grain Design

A Nambu Ironware Kettle That Complements Any Interior Style

Designed by the 8th-generation artisans of Oitomi, this Nambu iron kettle reimagines tradition to harmonize with both Western and Japanese interior styles.

From countless design sketches, the elegant woodgrain pattern was born, with the knob crafted to resemble a flower bud.

The kettle’s overall hue, Hisago-iro (gourd color), is one of Oitomi’s traditional signature shades. Over time, it naturally deepens into a warmer, brownish tone, maintaining its timeless charm through the years.

A teapot that allows you to naturally supplement your iron intake

In recent years, some have questioned whether Nambu iron teapots can provide iron supplementation. However, we’ve created a solution for those who wish to conveniently boil water and supplement iron in their daily routines.

The Woodgrain Iron Kettle is crafted using the traditional kamayaki firing technique, leaving the interior uncoated and naturally finished in a grayish hue—proof of its authenticity. While designed as a teapot, it also functions as a kettle for boiling water.

The spacious and tall tea strainer allows tea leaves to unfurl fully, enhancing flavor. Perfect for everyday boiling needs and equally ideal as a teapot.

How to Care

  • After a light rinse, dry the kettle by heating it over very low heat.
  • Please be careful not to overheat it or cool it abruptly after heating, as this may cause the kettle to crack.

Important Notes

  • Please note that the size, weight, and capacity of the kettle may vary slightly due to the manufacturing process.
  • When using on an induction stovetop with 200V or higher, please use low to medium heat.
  • Do not use detergent, sponges, or abrasive pads for cleaning.
  • Leaving tea or water in the kettle may cause the tea to darken due to a natural reaction between tannins and iron. This is harmless and safe for use.
