Paired with "Iwayado Craft," which utilizes scrap materials from the traditional Iwayado Tansu chests to create new items under the theme of "crafting things that become part of daily life," these two elements come together to form a beautiful pincushion made in Iwate.
The combination of natural wood from Iwayado Craft and the carefully stitched sashiko fabric by the mothers of Ōtsuchi creates a warm, gentle texture that emanates a comforting sense of wood and craftsmanship. The wood is lacquered, and over time, you can enjoy the changing hues that develop, adding to its charm.
