The Henbaibarai T-shirt, designed by Tetsutaro Take of the Bakurocho Band, draws inspiration from Iwate’s traditions, including the Shishi Odori, Jomon-era stone worship, and its profound ties to nature. Through a week of fieldwork in Iwate, Take immersed himself in the region's folklore, Obon customs, and traditional crafts, resulting in a design that celebrates the "connection beyond species" depicted in the Shishi Odori and Iwate’s ancient reverence for boulders and trees.
Tetsutaro Take (Bakurocho Band)
Leader of the unique folk music unit "Bakurocho Band," Take is known for crafting original songs and instruments. He conducts fieldwork on traditional arts and folk music across Japan while producing music for animations, films, and theater. His creative contributions include musical storytelling and workshops for children, blending music with visual arts like live painting and sea-waste art.
